Bollywood star Bachchan reported stable

BOMBAY, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan was in stable condition and under observation at Bombay's Lilavati Hospital for abdominal pain.

Bachchan, 63, transferred from a New Delhi hospital Monday and doctors in Bombay were waiting for test results, the Times of India reported Tuesday.

Bachchan's wife, Jaya, and son, Abhishek, were with him in the hospital's executive suite.

The actor -- named as the BBC's star of the millennium -- was at a poetry recital celebrating his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, when he was stricken with the pains Sunday.
