Shue, Carrey to star in 'The Number 23'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Actress Elizabeth Shue was announced Monday as the co-star of Jim Carrey's psychological thriller, "The Number 23."

Joel Schumacher is directing the film for New Line Cinema, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Fernley Phillips screenplay has Carrey portraying a man who comes into contact with an obscure book titled "The Number 23," The Reporter said. He becomes increasingly convinced the book is based on his own life and he becomes consumed with the number 23.

Shue will portray Carrey's wife as well as a character in the book.
