Slipknot halts tour for family death

DES MOINES, Iowa, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Metal rockers Slipknot are taking a week off from their Final Volume Tour to give Shawn "Clown" Crahan time to mourn the death of his father.

The band postponed Friday night's concert in Philadelphia and canceled shows scheduled next week in New York and Lewiston, Maine, MTV.com reported Friday.

A memorial service was scheduled Saturday in the family's hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. Michael Crahan died of a heart attack Tuesday at age 66.

The tour will resume Nov. 4 in Montreal.
