Photog pleads innocent in Witherspoon case

FULLERTON, Calif., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A photographer facing multiple charges for disrupting the Disney birthday party of Reese Witherspoon's daughter says he is being made a Hollywood scapegoat.

Todd K. Wallace was ordered in Fullerton, Calif., court Wednesday to stay at least 300 yards from Witherspoon and her family. He had originally been ordered to stay 500 yards away, but the distance was adjusted after Wallace said his home was closer than that to the home of Witherspoon and her husband, Ryan Phillippe, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Wallace pleaded innocent to battery, child endangerment and false imprisonment for allegedly pushing two adults and hitting a child with his camera while trying to snap Witherspoon and her children at Disney Adventure.

After his arraignment, Wallace told reporters assembled outside the courthouse he is a victim of Hollywood's vendetta against paparazzi.

"The governor on down, the order is do whatever it takes to get us," he said.

A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Oct. 28 and a trial for Nov. 9.
