Fire guts popular Hollywood mansion

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Pasadena, Calif., fire officials Thursday were searching for the cause of a fire that destroyed a multimillion-dollar mansion used in many Hollywood films.

Initial reports said the gutted mansion was used for Wayne Manor in the 1960s "Batman" TV series, but a fire department spokesman Thursday told the Pasadena Star Wayne Manor was actually two blocks away from the structure that burned.

The Wednesday night fire caused an estimated $15 million damage to the 21-room luxury home featured in films such as "Hollywood Homicide," "Just Married" and "Rocky V," the Star said.

The 12,000-square-foot home had been undergoing renovation.
