Barker was best known as Ronnie Corbett's partner in "The Two Ronnies" and as Fletch in the sitcom "Porridge."

He left show business in 1987 at age 57 and, except for a few appearances, focused on running an antique shop, the newspaper said.

Barker started his career in London's West End productions in 1955. He moved to radio in the 1960s and eventually made his way onto the small screen. Barker and Corbett teamed up in 1966 when they were writers and minor cast members on "The Frost Report." "The Two Ronnies" began its 16-year run in 1971.

Barker is survived by his wife and three children -- actors Charlotte Barker and Adam Barker and Larry Barker.
