Pantera's Anselmo resurfaces

NEW YORK, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Pantera's Phil Anselmo played guitar for Eyehategod in his first public appearance since the murder of his former bandmate "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.

The band shared a joint on stage at New York's CBGB and Anselmo dedicated the performance Monday night his "brother, Dimebag Darrell," Billboard.com reported.

After Abbott was shot on stage during an Ohio concert in December, Anselmo released a statement saying: "This is the last you'll be seeing of me for a long time."

Anselmo did not sing during the Monday night set and played rhythm guitar for the New Orleans metal band.
