LOS ANGELES, July 21 (UPI) -- Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor says he is no longer friends with shock rocker Marilyn Manson because he's "unhealthy" to be around.
The pair struck up a friendship and worked together, but their relationship has since disintegrated into rivalry, the World Entertainment News Network reported Thursday.
Reznor told WENN he accepts some blame for the friendship's dissolution.
"I'm not blameless, for sure," he said, "but part of it is we were friends, I was helping him out, then he's on my label, then he's opening for my band, and the competitive nature of it got to him.
"I'm disappointed, but you lose friends along the way," said Reznor. "There's a toxic element to him that probably wouldn't be healthy for me to be around."
