LOS ANGELES, July 8 (UPI) -- Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa are planning European tour in tribute to their late father, with the opening date in Barcelona, Spain.
The Zappa Plays Zappa tour begins Oct. 25.
The Zappa family is also creating a full-length documentary about Frank Zappa, which they plan to release by early next year. A condensed version of the documentary will be highlighted on the tour, Rolling Stone reported.
The documentary spans the guitarist/bandleader/composer's diverse career, from songs such as "Inca Roads" and "Call Any Vegetable" through sessions for his final project, 1993's The Yellow Shark.
The focus of the documentary will be Zappa's role as a composer.
"It gives you a lot of insight into the way he worked," says Dweezil Zappa. "He was always using classical themes in his music."
