NEW YORK, July 6 (UPI) -- The stars of the new Hollywood movie "Fantastic Four" are pleased with the action figures made in their images -- even though posing for them wasn't easy.
"It's kind of a dream come true," Ioan Gruffudd, who plays Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the comic-book adaptation, said in New York Wednesday.
Julian McMahon, who plays villain Doctor Doom, said a machine scanned the cast from head to toe, capturing their likenesses, which were then transferred onto the plastic toys.
"It's so invasive, it's ridiculous," the "Nip/Tuck" actor said of the procedure. "Because it picks up every little bump and crevice."
"You feel vulnerable," laughed Michael Chiklis, who plays Ben/The Thing in the movie, but is best-known as Detective Vic Mackey on TV's "The Shield." "You're spread-eagle and being photographed from every conceivable angle and it is turned into a three-dimensional image of your entire body."
Added McMahon, "And then you get to see the Burger King, 1-inch doll and your head (is tiny) and it looks just like you and that is freaky!"
"Fantastic Four" opens Friday.
