Lohan's uncle faces mail fraud allegation

LONG ISLAND, N.Y., June 22 (UPI) -- The uncle of teenage idol Lindsay Lohan faces mail fraud charges in New York involving 9/11 relief funds, The New York Post reported Wednesday.

Paul Sullivan, 47, the brother of the actress' mother, was arrested Tuesday at his Long Island home, the Post reported.

U.S. Postal inspectors and officials with the Small Business Administration accused Sullivan of siphoning off about $132,000 in checks, the report said.

Investigators accused Sullivan of keeping the money instead of using it to pay two creditors as he had promised.

Sullivan was released on $250,000 bond in a federal court. But the judge took his passport and ordered him to remain in the New York area, the Post said.

Lohan's other family problems include her father being sentenced to four years in jail last month for drunken driving, contempt of court and assaulting another brother-in-law, the Post said.
