BBC Radio 1 broadcasts to U.S. audience

NEW YORK, June 21 (UPI) -- BBC Radio 1 has struck a deal with subscription satellite broadcaster Sirius Radio to air its broadcasts to the United States.

It is the first time that the BBC has sold its programming for use on another network and the first time New York-based Sirius Radio -- the future home of shock jock Howard Stern -- has used an outside broadcaster, the BBC reported.

The British programs will be aired at the comparable time in the United States, which means U.S. audiences will not be able to interact with the likes of BBC Radio 1 hosts Chris Moyles and Scott Mills.
