LOS ANGELES, May 19 (UPI) -- Bob Denver, who won fame on American TV as Gilligan of Gilligan's Island, recently went through a quadruple bypass.
The 70-year-old actor is recovering, Entertainment Tonight reports.

Denver was a novice actor when he won the part of Maynard G. Krebs in Dobie Gillis. He went on to play Gilligan for three years in the original series and in a number of television movies and at personal appearances for fans.
He now lives in West Virginia with his wife, Dreama.
