Dave Matthew's 'Stand Up' debuts at No. 1

NEW YORK, May 18 (UPI) -- The Dave Matthews Band's "Stand Up," its first album in three years, debuted at No. 1 Wednesday in the Billboard 200.

The dual-disc release sold 465,000 copies in its introductory week -- more than double the sales of Weezer's No. 2 "Make Believe" -- and single "American Baby" held No. 11 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart.

Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" dipped to No. 3 in the weekly rating, 50 Cent's "The Massacre" fell to No. 4 and Nine Inch Nails' "With Teeth" fell to No. 5 from No. 1 the previous week.

Dierks Bentley earned his first top 10 debut with "Modern Day Drifter," which bowed at No. 6 and Gwen Stefani's "Love, Angel, Music, Baby" came in a No. 7.

Rob Thomas' "...Something To Be," Mike Jones' "Who Is Mike Jones?" and Bruce Springsteen's "Devils & Dust" rounded out the Top 10.

U.S. album sales fell to 10.2 million units, a 13 percent drop from the same week last year and a 9 percent decline from the year-earlier period.
