Murray scouts Caddyshack restaurant sites

CHICAGO, April 13 (UPI) -- Actor and Wilmette, Ill., native Bill Murray searched for the right spot or spots to tee off the first Caddyshack restaurant in the Chicago area.

Murray, who co-starred in the 1980 golf comedy, and his eight siblings opened CS Ventures' first Murray Bros. Caddyshack restaurant in St. Augustine, Fla., in 2001 and expanded to Orlando, Fla., and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

"We just think it's a natural to bring the concept, in a sense, back home," Bob Brown, chief executive officer of CS Ventures, told the Chicago Tribune. "Bill's always back in the market, they are all big Cubs fans, they are all big Chicago natives."

CS Ventures said it might open one or two restaurants in Chicago or its suburbs.

The company also was checking out sites in Dallas as well as Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz., for restaurants with the "Caddyshack" theme.
