LONDON, April 5 (UPI) -- Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden will skip the Saturday wedding of British Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles so she can open an Ikea store in Japan.
The 27-year-old princess is the daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf, and had long had the Swedish department store opening on her calendar, The News of the World reported.
The newspaper said the only "suitable" European royalty still expected to attend the civil wedding and party was Norway's 31-year old Crown Prince Haakon.
The wedding has been beset with problems and embarrassments since the couple announced their engagement in February. Most recently, the couple were forced to reschedule the ceremony at London's Guild Hall from Friday to Saturday so as not to conflict with the funeral of Pope John Paul II.
While Charles will be surrounded by his siblings and sons, his parents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, will skip the wedding, but attend the blessing and reception afterwards at Buckingham Palace.
