Bollywood's Khan deported

BOMBAY, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Bollywood actress Nigar Khan has been thrown out of India after officials found her to be working illegally, World Entertainment News reports.

Iranian-born Khan, who has a Norwegian passport, said she was transported to the airport in Bombay to be sent to Norway after a "routine" appointment with immigration officials. Khan claims she married an Indian citizen six months ago and insists her papers are in order.

Bombay's deputy police chief Bipin Bihari says Khan was on a visitor's visa but has been working on commercial ventures.

"We issued notices last year, in view of which she had gone back to Norway, but she has returned again this year to work," Bihari said.
