Dead Boys plan spring tour

CLEVELAND, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- After a long hiatus and doubts of ever having a reunion tour, U.S. punk icons the Dead Boys are hitting the road, RollingStone.com reports.

When the group's singer Stiv Bators died in 1990, the prospect of a reunion seemed remote. But after a performance in their home base of Cleveland last September, the idea of getting back together came to life.

"It was just amazing," says drummer Johnny Blitz. "I couldn't believe how tight we were. Two nights of rehearsal and then we did the show."

After publishing two albums in the late 1970s, the band got together only on occasion for live shows. Then Bators was struck and killed by a car while walking on a sidewalk in Paris and remaining members showed no interest in getting back together.

But now the band is planning a spring tour and may even include some new songs in their lineup, says Blitz.
