Author grandson writes 'Book of Thoughts'

ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- St. Paul, Minn., resident Jordan Storeby, grandson of author Karen Casey, has created a book from his preteen feelings in "A Boy's Book of Daily Thoughts."

Storeby, now 14, spent a year and a half of middle school recording his daily thoughts and musings for the tome, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Monday. The book, geared towards preteen boys, is meant to help readers understand their own thoughts and emotions as it did for Storeby, his grandmother said.

Casey, an author of many meditation books, had written two meditation books for girls. When Storeby asked her why she did not write any books for boys, she commissioned him to do the job for her.

"It's never easy to get boys to open up about their feelings," she wrote in a review of Jordan's book on her Web site. "They often carry this resistance into adulthood, too. Getting used to the idea of talking about feelings is what the book is designed to do."
