Rock group Cream reunites for London shows

LONDON, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The sixties rock group Cream, with Eric Clapton on guitars/vocals, Jack Bruce on bass and Ginger Baker on drums, reportedly has reunited for some London gigs.

The band, which split in November 1968, is to begin rehearsals early next year for a week of shows at the Royal Albert Hall, site of the trio's final concert, Billboard.com reported Wednesday.

The band last performed together in 1993 when Cream was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

During the two years Cream was together, the band released three albums: "Fresh Cream," "Disraeli Gears" and the half-live/half-studio "Wheels of Fire.

Clapton and Baker joined Blind Faith when Cream disbanded, but only released one album before Clapton left for his own solo career.

Previous attempts to reconcile failed, Billboard.com reported.

There is no news about whether the band will perform additional shows in other parts of the world.

Clapton's spokesperson had no comment.
