Pierce Brosnan wants to retire Bond

LONDON, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Pierce Brosnan, the most recent actor to portray James Bond, wants to retire the spy hero now that Brosnan no longer is under contract to make more 007 films.

"I would not like anyone else to be Bond. I would like them to stop there and never do another one," Brosnan said Tuesday at the London premiere of his current film "After the Sunset," Britain's Daily Mail reported Wednesday.

Brosnan, however, knows the Bond franchise is too lucrative to retire.

"It's a modern franchise so there will be another Bond and whoever does it will have a great time," he said, adding he would like to see Irish actor Colin Farrell as the next 007.
