Mellencamp preaches positivity on new song

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- John Mellencamp calls his new single, "Walk Tall," a regular John Mellencamp song, but he hopes people will hear its message.

"This country has become so divided in the last four years. I think it's very frightening," says the Indiana rocker, who co-produced the song with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. "I think people need something good to be said out there in this world of negativity that the United States has been, and hopefully people can find some inspiration from this song."
