Stone's guitarist may guest on 'The Bill'

LONDON, July 15 (UPI) -- Rolling Stone's guitarist Ronnie Wood may appear on British cop show "The Bill" as a crook if the rocker can work it out between music gigs.

Wood, who is friends with "The Bill" star Jeff Stewart, recently showed up on the set of the ITV1 drama to meet the cast and crew, Britain's Sun reported Thursday.

The show's producers had planned to give Wood a walk-on role that day, but the 57-year-old guitarist showed up too late.

The offer, however, still stands.

"'The Bill' is one of my favorite shows and I'd love to have a bit part. It's a question of fitting it in with my real job," Wood said.

Who singer Roger Daltrey and ex-Spice Girl Emma Bunton have already appeared on "The Bill" in cameo roles.
