Rowling has name for new 'Potter' book

LONDON, June 29 (UPI) -- J.K. Rowling has revealed the sixth book in the popular Harry Potter series will be titled "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince."

Rowling made the announcement on her Web site.

"Well, the door opened at last and I showed you the title of book six -- the genuine title, the title that will appear on the published book, the title I have been using in my head for ages and ages," she said.

Rowling shot down a rumor that the book would be called "Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé."

"I was delighted to see that a hard core of super-bright fans knew that the real title was once, in the long distant past, a possibility for 'Chamber of Secrets,' and from that deduced that it was genuine," she wrote.

Rowling has not finished the book yet, and no release date has been set. Filming is under way on the movie adaptation of the fourth book, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" -- once again starring Daniel Radcliffe as the boy wizard and Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as his schoolmates Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
