Damon Wayans will direct feature film

LOS ANGELES, May 28 (UPI) -- Damon Wayans will direct his first feature film this summer, according to a report in Daily Variety.

Wayans, the star of the ABC comedy series "My Wife and Kids," will be behind the camera for "Behind the Smile." It's described as a dark drama about a young man who leaves Cleveland for Hollywood to pursue his dream of becoming a standup comedy star.

Marlon Wayons will star. Variety said the supporting cast will include James Belushi ("According to Jim") and Shakara Ledard ("Prey for Rock & Roll"), as well as cameos by several comedians.
