Chenoweth talking role in 'Bewitched'

LOS ANGELES, May 19 (UPI) -- Kristin Chenoweth is in negotiations to play opposite Nicole Kidman in Columbia Pictures' film adaptation of the TV series "Bewitched."

Now starring in the Broadway hit, "Wicked," Chenowith would play Kidman's nosey next-door neighbor Marie, named Gladys in the television show.

The production also co-stars Shirley MacLaine, Michael Caine and Will Ferrell, the Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday.

Quickly becoming a big-screen player, Chenoweth is making her feature film debut in MGM's "The Pink Panther." She plays the hot French public relations executive for a soccer team that gets caught up in the diamond investigation.

The classically trained singer also recently signed up for the movie musical "Asphalt Beach," which Peter Spears will direct.
