WB brings three top sitcoms back in fall

LOS ANGELES, May 13 (UPI) -- The WB has renewed three of the U.S. TV network's top sitcoms -- "Reba," "Grounded for Life" and "What I Like About You" -- to anchor a fall comedy lineup.

The WB, which started a second comedy night on Thursdays last season, reportedly will return to a single night of comedies on Friday in the fall, said Thursday's Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to the three returning sitcoms, the WB will add "Shacking Up" with Fran Drescher to the mix.

Another comedy pilot, "Commando Nanny," also may join the Friday lineup, possibly for midseason.

Twentieth Century Fox TV's "Reba," starring country singer and actress Reba McEntire, is the WB's top comedy, averaging 4 million viewers weekly.

In related TV news, NBC has ordered the drama pilot "Medical Mystery" to series, sources said.
