, May 11 (UPI) -- Fox looks to clone 'O.C.' success

LOS ANGELES, May 11 (UPI) -- Fox reportedly is in talks with "The O.C.'s" creator to develop a new series in a bid to repeat the success the network found with the beach drama series.

Josh Schwartz may soon close a deal to develop a companion show capitalizing on the Newport Beach fun-loving teen scene that made "The O.C." one of Fox's top-rated shows during its first season, E! Online reported Tuesday.

If the deal goes through, Schwartz will write the pilot and serve as executive producer while also retaining his writing and producing chores at the original series.

Fox reportedly will premiere the show, which may aim for a slightly older demographic similar to the "Melrose Place" audience, in January.

"The O.C." debuted last summer and quickly gained a faithful audience, scoring an average of 9.6 million viewers per week, according to Nielsen Media ratings, and consistently finishing first or second in its time slot.

Biana Jagger on verge of eviction

NEW YORK, May 11 (UPI) -- Rocker Mick Jagger's ex-wife has received an eviction notice from her New York apartment while in the midst of suing her landlord for mold contamination.

Bianca Jagger returned home to her Park Avenue home Monday from a court hearing to find a week-old eviction notice on her door, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

"I'm just so distressed," Jagger said, adding she has been forced to live out of a suitcase for the past two years because of the mold inside her $4,600-a-month apartment. Jagger is suing Katz Park Ave. Corp. for $20 million for personal injury because of the moldy conditions.

City inspectors found the conditions inside her two-bedroom apartment to be "immediately hazardous to human health," the report said.

Katz's attorney said it can evict Jagger because the apartment is not her primary residence, although the former Rolling Stone wife has maintained the home for the past 20 years.

"The law should not allow this to happen to people," Jagger said. "Someone who's been a good tenant should not be put through what I've been put through."

Willie Nelson cancels tours through June

LOS ANGELES, May 11 (UPI) -- Willie Nelson has postponed his U.S. tour dates through June 30 because of carpal tunnel syndrome creating pain in his wrist.

The 71-year-old entertainer is expected to reschedule the dates, said Elaine Schock, Nelson's spokeswoman, but he is taking a break on doctor's orders.

"He has been treated with medication, but symptoms persist and doctors have said he needs rest," Schock told UPI Tuesday, adding doctors were unsure whether Nelson will need surgery to alleviate the inflammation in his wrist.

Doctors blamed the affliction on Nelson's years of guitar playing.

"Imagine that!" Schock said.

Nelson's current medical break is not expected to impact his annual Fourth of July Picnic, scheduled this year for the Ft. Worth, Texas, Stockyards, Schock said.

Glen Campbell pleads guilty to charges

PHOENIX, May 11 (UPI) -- Country musician Glen Campbell has pleaded guilty to extreme drunken driving and leaving the scene of a minor traffic accident in Phoenix.

Campbell reversed an earlier plea of innocent when he appeared Monday in a Maricopa County, Ariz., superior court for the Nov. 24 incident, E! Online reported Tuesday. Prosecutors dropped an assault charge in exchange for the guilty plea.

The Grammy-winning singer is due back in court June 14 for formal sentencing, which likely will involve 10 days behind bars, E! Online said, with eligibility for a work-release program after two days, then 75 hours of community service work.

Campbell tested 0.2 percent on the Breathalyzer when he was caught near his home after the accident, which is twice Arizona's legal limit of 0.08. He blamed the situation on mixing prescription drugs and liquor.

Campbell has sold more than 40 million records, scoring 27 Top 10 hits throughout his 40-year career. He also hosted TV's "Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" on CBS from 1969 to 1972.
