Padalecki to return to 'Gilmore Girls'

LOS ANGELES, May 7 (UPI) -- Jared Padalecki, the actor who played Rory Gilmore's first love, has signed up for a recurring role on The WB's "Gilmore Girls" next season.

Since his character Dean Forester was married earlier this season, Padalecki has made occasional appearances on the show.

He will next be seen in "New York Minute" opposite Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

In other casting news from Zap2it.com, Emiliano Diez, a recurring guest star for the first two seasons of "George Lopez," will become a regular as the father of Constance Marie's Angie, while Tony Sirico, Paulie Walnuts on "The Sopranos," will lend his voice to a character on Nickelodeon's "Fairly OddParents."
