Showtime to screen 4 films at Tribeca fest

NEW YORK, April 22 (UPI) -- The line-up for New York's upcoming Tribeca Film Festival includes four new Showtime movies.

Two of the pictures are from the recently launched Showtime Independent Films banner and two are from Showtime Original Pictures, the premium cable TV network said Thursday.

Two films making their world premieres at Tribeca next month are "Bereft," the directorial debut of actor Tim Daly, in the Showcase section, and "Cavedweller," starring Kyra Sedgwick and Aidan Quinn, in the festival's Spotlight section.

The festival will also feature the New York premieres of "Edge of America" with James McDaniel and Mario Van Peebles' "BAADASSSSS!" which Sony Pictures Classics will release next month.

"Showtime is thrilled to be so significantly represented in this year's prestigious Tribeca Film Festival," said Robert Greenblatt, President of Entertainment for Showtime.
