Jane Krakowski joins 'Christmas Carol'

LOS ANGELES, April 12 (UPI) -- Actress Jane Krakowski has joined the cast of NBC's "A Christmas Carol," a musical special, starring Kelsey Grammer, based on the Charles Dickens classic.

Krakowski, a five-year veteran on Fox's "Ally McBeal," has been cast to play the Ghost of Christmas Past, said Monday's Hollywood Reporter.

The special, set to begin production in June in Budapest, Hungary, is scheduled to air in November.

In addition to Grammer playing Scrooge, the program, based on the stage production at New York's Madison Square Garden, also stars Jason Alexander and Jesse L. Martin.

Krakowski, a Tony award-winning actress for her 2002 role in "Nine," stars in the CBS comedy pilot, "Taste," set to air in the fall.
