New York City tells Trump 'You're fined!'

NEW YORK, March 26 (UPI) -- Donald Trump has been fined for decorating New York City's Trump Towers with a huge "You're Fired!" sign, the trademark slogan from Trump's hit reality show.

A city inspector gave Trump's firm four citations for hanging the 13-foot-high by 25-foot-wide sign on the Fifth Avenue building between 56th and 57th Streets, Friday's New York Post reported.

City regulations said the sign, which has become a new Big Apple tourist attraction, is illegal and Trump must remove it.

Trump, who was in California when the citations were handed out, urged city officials to reconsider.

"The fact that 'The Apprentice' is the hottest show on TV, they should be happy we're doing it in New York," Trump said.

"The big complaint about the city is that it's an unfriendly place to do business," he said. "They should wise up."

"The Apprentice" is the hit NBC reality series where competitors vie for a chance to land an executive job at one of Trump's companies.
