Hepburn belongings hit the auction block

NEW YORK, March 18 (UPI) -- Some of Katharine Hepburn's favorite jewelry, clothing, paintings and movie memorabilia will be sold by her estate at Sotheby's auction house in June.

The collection also features a lock of the legendary movie star's baby hair, wedding dress, passports, address books, luggage, painting she created herself and rare items connected to lovers Spencer Tracy and Howard Hughes, the New York Post reported Thursday.

The items are valued at more than $1 million and are expected to draw fans of the four-time Oscar winner from all over the world, The Post said.

"Hepburn's iconic status as one of Hollywood's most important actors is only matched by her zest for life at its fullest," said Leila Dunbar, director of Sotheby's collectibles.

The hundreds of objects come from Hepburn's former New York townhouse, and homes she owned in Connecticut and Los Angeles.

The actress died last June at the age of 96.
