LOS ANGELES, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- The Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck bomb "Gigli" was nominated for nine Razzies, the Golden Rasberry Award Foundation announced Monday.
A spoof of the Oscars, the Razzies recognize the year's worst in film.
In addition to earning Lopez and Affleck a nomination for worst on-screen lovers, the film is also in the running for worst picture, pitting it against "Charlie's Angeles: Full Throttle" and the "reality" movie, "The Real Cancun," among others.
Mike Myers' critically reviled adaptation of "Dr. Seuss' the Cat in the Hat" and "From Justin to Kelly," featuring "American Idol" stars Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini, followed close behind "Gigli" with eight nominations.
Nominations for the Razzie Awards are traditionally announced the day before Academy Award nominations are revealed. The "winners" are announced the day before the Oscars, which this year will be Feb. 28.
