'Rings' actor to star in flick for Sci-Fi

NEW YORK, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- John Rhys-Davies, best-known as Gimli the dwarf in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, will star in an original Sci Fi Channel movie later this month.

Set in medieval times, "Dragon Storm" is the tale of how alien dragons are transported inside an earth-bound meteor and terrorize anyone in their paths. Two enemy kingdoms must unite and, following the lead of a reclusive hunter, fight off the beasts before they scorch the countryside bare.
