Ex-Beatle's family sues NY doc

NEW YORK, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- George Harrison's widow and son filed a $10 million lawsuit Tuesday, claiming a doctor created a "circus atmosphere" and forced the former Beatle to autograph a guitar on his deathbed.

According to the New York Daily News, the lawsuit was brought against cancer doctor Gilbert Lederman, his children and Staten Island University Hospital.

Details revealed in the shocking lawsuit, filed in Brooklyn Federal Court, claim Lederman grabbed Harrison's hand and guided the musician through the signature after Harrison told the doctor he didn't know if he could remember how to spell his name.

In addition to pressuring the sick musician to sign the instrument, the court papers allege the doctor also forced the bedridden Harrison to endure an impromptu concert by his 12-year-old son just two weeks before Harrison died.

Lederman is also accused of divulging confidential information regarding the intensely private musician's condition and treatment during his many press conferences.
