Judge halts Eminem's 'racist' CD

NEW YORK, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- A U.S. federal judge has release a CD allegedly containing racist lyrics by white hip-hop artist Eminem, the New York Post reported Friday.

The Source, a popular hip-hop publication, was set next month to distribute a CD of previously unreleased Eminem music, recorded from 1988 to 1993.

Rapper Ray Benzino, using The Source for his platform, has maintained that Eminem is racist. The CD, he said, included lines such as "Black girls only want your money."

Judge Gerald Lynch issued a temporary restraining order against the magazine from distributing the CD after Eminem's label, Shady Records, sued the magazine owners and Benzino for copyright infringement.

Eminem, who was discovered by veteran rap/hip-hop producer Dr. Dre, released his first album in 1996. During his career, he has emerged as one of the genre's biggest stars, with world tours and million-selling records.
