Gazprom in gas talks with South Korea

MOSCOW, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- A delegation from South Korea's Kogas arrived in Moscow to discuss the terms of natural gas imports from Russian energy monopoly Gazprom.

Alexander Ananenkov, the deputy chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, met with Kogas representatives to arrange natural gas shipments. Both sides reviewed the progress of studies for Korean imports, Gazprom said.

South Korea signed agreements with Russia in 2009 to import liquefied natural gas from the Sakhalin facility.

Gazprom and Kogas signed a memorandum of understanding on natural gas supplies in 2008 and moved on exploration deals in 2009.
