Kosovo, Albania partner on energy

PRISTINA, Kosovo, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Leaders from Kosovo and Albania met to discuss energy cooperation.

The minister of Energy and Mining of Kosovo and the minister of Economy, Trade and Energy of Albania signed a memorandum of cooperation, KosovoLive reported. The agreement reportedly aims to develop the energy infrastructure connecting the two countries.

The memorandum calls for energy exchange between the two countries later this year, enough energy to help both countries meet all of their demand.

"This agreement is not only a diplomatic and political step but also a necessity imposed by the circumstances in the energy market in the region and the world," said Albanian Energy Minister Genc Ruli.
