Sudan: Oil revenues disbursed to south

KHARTOUM, Sudan, May 1 (UPI) -- Sudan said Monday it had disbursed $212 million in oil revenues to the southern government, the official Suna news agency reported.

These are all the dues owed to the government of the south by Khartoum, The Ministry of Finance and National Economy announced.

Al-Shaykh Muhammad al-Makki, the undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance, said direct transfers to the south amounted to $162 million and was disbursed between January and March. There was another disbursement of $16 million in the same period, he said.

He added that the remaining dues, some $33.4 million, were disbursed last April.
