Kuwait's cabinet has begun proceedings to remove the ailing new emir, The New York Times reports.

Kuwait's Emir Sheik Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah will replace his ailing crown prince with Prime Minister Sabah al-Ahmad, reports said Wednesday.

Kuwaiti authorities said they wiped out a terrorist group following clashes in which a civilian and four gunmen were killed Monday.
