Robert McClure Bowen (born February 24, 1981 in Bedford, Texas) is a Major League Baseball catcher who is a free agent. Known primarily for his defensive skills, Bowen was recently released by the Oakland Athletics.
Bowen spends the regular season living in San Diego, California, but spends his offseasons in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. He also has a baseball camp each winter back in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Bowen attended Homestead Senior High School in Fort Wayne. His senior year (1999), he earned All-State honors and was named the Indiana State Player of the Year by Gatorade and USA Today.
