Michael Walchhofer (born 28 April 1975, in Radstadt) is an Austrian alpine ski racer. He started his career in slalom, but now participates in the downhill speed events. He won the silver medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics in the men's downhill event. He also participated in the combined event, but he did not finish the slalom portion. He became the first skier to win the Bormio Downhill three times with his victory on December 29, 2010.
