Topic: Mark Brokaw

Mark Brokaw is a stage director. He won the Drama Desk Award, Obie Award and Lucille Lortel Award as Outstanding Director of a Play for How I Learned to Drive.

Brokaw was raised in Aledo, Illinois and graduated from the Yale Drama School. He received a Drama League fellowship and was given directing work through Carole Rothman and Robyn Goodman, artistic heads of the Second Stage Theatre.

Brokaw has continued to be associated with Second Stage Theatre company as a resident director, and is a member of the Drama Dept. theater company. He has directed many off-Broadway productions, and received Drama Desk Award and Lucille Lortel Award nominations as Director for his work on Lobby Hero (2001). He won the Drama Desk, Obie Award, and Lucille Lortel Award for How I Learned to Drive (1997). He spent 5 seasons with the Young Playwright's Festival (1989-1995) and also has directed for Playwrights Horizons, Manhattan Theatre Club, NYSF/Public Theatre, Lincoln Center, New Group and WPA.
