Margaret Hoelzer is an American swimmer, born March 30, 1983 in Huntsville, Alabama. While in Huntsville, she swam summers for Jones Valley Recreation Association, and swam for her high school, Huntsville High School. She also coached for JVRA.

Margaret swam collegiately for Auburn, where she earned her degree in psychology with a minor in criminology. Hoelzer currently trains professionally with King Aquatic Club, and makes her home in Seattle Washington. She is 5'11" (180 cm) and weighs 174 lbs (79 kg).

At the US Trial, Margaret qualified to swim the 200 m backstroke by placing first, with a time of 2:11.88. She also swam in the 100 m backstroke, but placed 8th at 1:01.13, failing to qualify for the Olympics in Athens.
