John C. Coughenour (b. 1941 (age 68–69)) is a U.S. District Court Judge. He was appointed by Ronald Reagan in 1981.

Before being appointed as a judge, Coughenour was a leading litigator with Bogle & Gates and has taught trial and appellate practice at the University of Washington School of Law.

Coughenour entered private practice in 1966. Coughenour was an assistant professor of law, at the University of Washington, from 1970 to 1973. He was a Chief Judge from 1997-2004. He became a Senior Judge in 2006.
