Dominic James (born October 5, 1986 in Richmond, Indiana) is an American basketball player. James' career with the Marquette University Golden Eagles men's basketball team was thought to have ended a few weeks prematurely when he broke the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot during the Golden Eagles' loss to Connecticut on February 25, 2009. However on March 21, the eve of the second round game, Marquette announced James is cleared to play again. The 5"11 175 pound point guard averaged 14.9 points, 4.9 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game in 2006-2007. James is considered a potential second-round NBA Draft pick.

In 2005-06, James was one of three Marquette players to start every game of the season, while being named Big East Rookie of the Year honors, in addition to numerous other awards. James topped his previous career-high 28 points with a team leading 29 points at DePaul University on January 17, 2006. James notched his first double-double of the season at the University of Louisville on March 1, 2006, with 16 points and a team leading 11 rebounds.

On March 3, 2007, James tallied a career high 10 assists while missing eight minutes due to cramps in the Golden Eagles' victory over 12th ranked Pittsburgh. After the 2007 season, James entered the 2007 NBA Draft but withdrew on June 17.
