Topic: Dan Fouts

Daniel Francis Fouts (born June 10, 1951) is a former Hall of Fame American football quarterback in the National Football League. Fouts played his whole career with the San Diego Chargers from 1973 through 1987. He is one of the many famous, most prolific passing quarterbacks during the Golden Age Super Bowl era of the 70s and 80s. But, the Chargers teams he played for during his 15-year career never made it to the Super Bowl. He is currently a color commentator for NFL games on CBS.

Dan Fouts went to Marin Catholic High School, which is located just north of San Francisco in Kenfield, CA. for his two first years of High School, and was starting for the varsity team by his sophomore year. He decided to transfer to St. Ignatius College Preparatory (San Francisco, CA) for his final two years of high school.

Dan Fouts was somewhat of an unknown when he accepted the scholarship offer from the University of Oregon. Things were quite different after the All-Pac 8 quarterback's career where he set 19 school records, including those for career passing yardage (5,995) and total offense (5,871). He was inducted into the University of Oregon Hall of Fame in 1992.
