What I see in Christian is the ultimate embodiment of Bruce Wayne ... exactly the balance of darkness and lightBale selected for Batman role Sep 12, 2003
I grew up with Batman. I've been fascinated by him and I'm excited to contribute to the lore surrounding the character. Batman is the most credible and realistic of the superheroes, and has the most complex human psychology. His superhero qualities come from within. He's not a magical character. I had a fantastic experience with the studio on 'Insomnia' and I'm keen to repeat that experienceEntertainment Today: Showbiz News Jan 30, 2003
As the story progresses, we wanted to have two larger-than-life characters confront each other in this twisted psychological cat-and-mouse game. When I met Robin and realized how clearly he understood Finch, it was very exciting to know that he was going to fit this character like a gloveInterview of the week: Robin Williams May 23, 2002
We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we'll be introducing some new onesNext Batman called 'Dark Knight Rises' Oct 27, 2010
When you collaborate with people as talented as Marion and Joe, it comes as no surprise that you would want to repeat the experience. I immediately thought of them for the roles of Miranda and Blake, and I am looking forward to working with both of them again'Inception' co-stars sign on to 'Rises' Apr 19, 2011

He is known for writing and directing such critically acclaimed films as Memento (2000), The Prestige (2006), Inception (2010), and rebooting the Batman film franchise, as well as directing the Hillary Seitz written Insomnia (2002). Nolan was born in London, the son of an English father who worked as an advertising copywriter and an American mother who was a flight attendant. He has a younger brother, Jonathan, with whom Nolan often collaborates on film scripts. As a dual citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States, he spent his childhood in both London and Chicago. Nolan found an interest in botany and "dicots" early on until he found his father's camera. He began film-making at the age of seven using his father's Super 8 camera and his toy action figures. While living in Chicago as a child, he also made short films with future director and producer Roko Belic.
