Christoph Schubert (born February 5, 1982 in Munich, Germany) is a professional ice hockey player for the National Hockey League's (NHL) Atlanta Thrashers and previously for the Ottawa Senators. Schubert is most often found playing defense, however, he can also play the forward position in the event of any injury to the players on the Thrashers' roster.

Head coach Bryan Murray became the General Manager of the team, he seemed to enjoy having the luxury of a seventh defenceman dressed on any given night. He is generally seen as a competent defenceman and a checking forward with some physical upside.

One of his greatest assets is his shot, which was measured at over a 100 mph in the 2005–06 Senators' Super Skills Competition -- giving him the second hardest shot in team history behind former teammate Zdeno Chara.
